A
Reiki treatment is a relaxing and peaceful experience, which will take
about one hour, is performed on a bodywork table or chair if the client
cannot lie down. The practitioner's hands are placed on the body in
prescribed positions on the torso, head and back. Clients remain fully
clothed during a treatment. The Reiki practitioner will ask why you
have come to Reiki and what problems you wish to have addressed through
the treatment.
Try
not to have expectations. Reiki works on people in different ways and
in its own time. A person being treated will take in as much or as little
energy as needed. Some people feel the energy moving through the body
and others feel the warmth of the practitioner’s hands. Some feel nothing.
It doesn’t mean that you are not receiving the Reiki energy. Most begin
to relax and fall asleep. Some begin to feel emotions surfacing while
others have memories.
An
exact outcome of a Reiki treatment cannot be predicted because Reiki
does not claim to be an exact science. It is a healing art. Reiki is
completely safe. It is not possible to receive too much Reiki or to
overwhelm with the Reiki energy. Children can be treated in less time
depending on size. Animals and plants can be treated as well.
